Story
I am running the Big Half for SportsAid - a national charity which supports talented young athletes to achieve their ambitions in sport and life.
As a SportsAid alumna and former GB 400m sprinter, I have first-hand experience of how much a SportsAid Award can make a difference to a young athlete.
During my athletics career, I was a recipient of multiple SportsAid awards. Thanks to SportsAid, I was able to invest more into my sport, such as participating in elite training camps and getting expert physio support. This gave me an edge which enhanced my ability to compete for Great Britain internationally at the highest levels.
During my time as an elite athlete, SportsAid also contributed to my personal development, such as giving me a platform to share my views on the growth of women's sport in the U.K., and how to improve upon the gaps and disparities that exist.
I am now aiming to support the next generation of sporting talent through my role as a member of SportsAid's National Awards Committee. Alongside this, I am working with SportsAid and Sports England to change the culture of sport by creating more accessible and inclusive talent pathways through their Talent Inclusion series.
