The Wyre Men Sing project

The project is being run by Kidderminster Male Choir (KMC) as part of its 120th anniversary celebrations. All money raised by the project will be donated to the Kidderminster and Worcestershire Prostate Cancer Support Group (KWPCSG). That is also the case for this Just Giving page which links to KMC's Just Giving account but KMC is simply acting as an intermediary. All project costs are covered by sponsors and KMC.

The project has two goals, firstly teaching men to sing so they can benefit from its health and social benefits, and secondly raising money for the battle against Prostate Cancer. The latter is important because sadly 1 in 8 men are likely to suffer from the disease at some point in their life. For most, the disease is curable, or at least manageable, if detected early (typically via the PSA test). Our project partner, KWPCSG, helps local men get access to tests, and supports them and their families on the journey if signs of cancer are detected.

Via this Just Giving page, project participants will gain sponsorship from friends and families, as they embark on their musical journey. This starts April 16th and ends with a gala concert on 29th June in front of hundreds of people. All the concert proceeds will be donated to KWPCSG.

Your support and encouragement are very much appreciated. For some participants even joining the project choir is itself a significant challenge.
