Story
On Sunday 28th September a dedicated team of WUS staff will be taking part in the London Vitality 10k, starting on the Mall and finishing in front of Buckingham palace. Our team has grown over the last three years, and 13 of us will be pounding the streets of Westminster in two weeks’ time, along with 16,000 other runners.
For some of us this will be the first time taking part in an organised event, whereas others are more seasoned runners. What unites us though is that we have decided once again to raise money for the Cardinal Hume Centre, one of the designated school charities who do so much work to provide accommodation and support to the homeless in the borough of Westminster.
Our team is made up of the following members of staff:
Achia Cherirou, Alice Hartley, Eugénie Monville, Emmanuelle Banfield, Gwenaël Gougay, Leonie Chacksfield, Michael Woodside, Nick Starbrook, Nikita Odedra Paul Isaac, Mary Raikes, Sam Thébaud
On Saturday 27th September some Westminster will be running the Westminster Mile, also starting on the Mall. Unfortunately, the event (as was the 10k) was sold out by the time we came back to school, so well done if you managed to secure a place following my message in June.
The WUS junior team is made up of the following pupils:
Eddie, Mihir, Sebastian (Year 3), William (Year 4), Alexander, Sam (Year 5), Aditya, Alexander, Sasha, Noah (Year 6), Jack, Rupert, Walker (Year 7), Torrens (Year 8)
Maybe some parents are also taking part in one of the two events. Do let me know if that is the case. Also do feel free to share the fundraising link above if you so wish and thus make this a whole community fundraising event.
Happy running everyone!
