This year the Combined Cadet Force will be 75 years old. To celebrate this we are asking every contingent to raise £75 by the end of April 2024. The CCF will officially mark the end of the 75th year at this time.

Story

Writhlington School CCF is raising money for the CCFA by completing a sponsored walk. Staff and cadets from the contingent will be walking 26.2 miles to celebrate 75 years of the CCF. Cadets will be completing the distance from Priddy to Frome.

Captain Barry Eggleton (Army Section Commander) is also raising money by completing 50 miles, carrying 25lbs between 0001hrs on 24 Dec to 2359hrs on 31 Dec 23.

The tradition of cadet units in schools goes back over 150 years to 1859. In 1948, the Combined Cadet Force was formed, covering cadets from all three Services. The CCF is focused on helping young people to develop and reach their full potential by providing challenging, active, adventurous and fun activities. The CCFA exists to support these endeavours and provides grants to ensure EVERY cadet can take part. Help us raise £75 for 75 years of CCF.
