Story
This September Six of Watford Swimming Clubs most courageous swimmers will be battling tide’s and jellyfish to reach France.
Our junior channel relay team are aged between 13 and 15 years old.
These swimmers have been training hard in lakes and the sea through all weathers to prepare for this huge challenge.
Channel swimming rules stipulate that only a standard costume, one swim hat and goggles may be worn. Wetsuits are not allowed.
The water will range from only 16C to 18C, so to acclimatise they’ve been taking cold showers and swimming long sessions in cold water.
Peace hospice provides a vital service not only for end of life patients, it also helps patients manage symptoms, alleviate pain, provide companionship and offer spiritual guidance.
Our experience of their fantastic work extends to many but in particular to an incredible lady and fellow channel swimmer Jody Jones who benefited from the wonderful support from Peace Hospice Care.
We hope you can help the hospice continue to improve the lives of others.
WOW (as pictured) are : Felipe, Barney, Prisha, Megan, Sam and Will.
