Fundraising in the North West for RNLI in 2024

Story

I'm RNLI Community Manager in North West and every year, Mike organises the Wirral Kayak Challenge to raise money for local charities and we are absolutely delighted to have been chosen in 2024, marking 200 years of the RNLI.

As a charity, the RNLI depends on voluntary donations to power our life saving work.

There are 238 Lifeboat Stations around the UK and Ireland with lifesavers providing a search and rescue service 24-hours a day, seven days a week. The lifeguards keep watch on 242 of the busiest beaches in the UK and Channel Islands, and RNLI safety teams and educators work tirelessly to stop people getting into trouble in the first place.

The average lifeboat station in Wales, North West England and the Isle of Man costs £155,000 to run. We are asking all our friends and communities to donate what they can to keep us running.

The demand on RNLI crews and lifeguards continues to increase, and people need our help now more than ever. As an emergency service and a charity, we rely on your support. Our vision is to Save Every One, please help us fulfill that mission.

RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.
