#TeamTHS Superstars take on the 2024 London Marathon
Campaign by The Haemophilia Society (RCN 288260 (England & Wales), SC039732 (Scotland))
The London Marathon is an unforgettable event which inspires heroic endurance from our runners, and incredible generosity from our supporters. All of our runners this year all have very special reasons why our charity is close to their hearts.

Story

I am running the London Marathon on 21/04/24, I am doing so for a couple of reasons:

To raise £2000 for The Haemophilia Society - I have Severe Haemophilia A, this organisation has provided support and information to not only me but my family. https://haemophilia.org.uk/public-inquiry/the-infected-blood-inquiry/the-contaminated-blood-scandal/

In memory of my Uncle Jonathan Wilson who died on 29th March 1987 aged 25 due to being infected with HIV and Hepatitis C in the Infected Blood Scandal. In the 1970s and 1980s 4,689 people with Haemophilia and other bleeding disorders were infected with HIV and Hepatitis viruses through the use of contaminated clotting factors. Since then more than 3,000 people have died and of the 1,243 people infected with HIV less than 250 are still alive. https://www.infectedbloodinquiry.org.uk/
