Story
Sarah was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in late 2022 and while sitting in Salisbury Hospital one grey and damp January morning , I read through the list of companies and individuals who had donated to the Breast care unit to provide a calm and peaceful atmosphere for treatment with a dedicated team of nurses, the care Sarah received from them throughout was faultless,
We all know someone that has or will be impacted by this disease, but diagnosis and treatments are improving on a daily basis.
So I decided i would get on my bike to Devon and raise some funds along the way, I mentioned this to a few friends most thought I was bonkers , however, a few said they would like to join in so THE UNLIKELY CYCLISTS were born.
Ranging from a few experienced riders to offer guidance on everything from bikes to the correct attire, to friends who have not been on a bike for a decade or three. let alone purchased Lycra before and now can be found puffing around the Wiltshire countryside at weekends in training, strangely satisfying seems to be the general consensus.
So we are leaving Marston near Devizes on July 13th and arriving in Axminster at the end of the day some 68 miles, then to Moretonhampstead on day two just 44 miles mainly up hill !.
The Unlikely Cyclists are -
John Matthews , Andy Hillier , Matt Oakes , Mike & Elaine Davis, Nick Cordel, Matt Hurley Alistair Fenwick, Wayne Davis , Tristan & William Warden and a late entry from Chris Combe
With an age range from under 30 to over 70.
