72 Hole Golf Challenge, 28 June 2023
The past year has been difficult for many, so were aiming to reach as many people experiencing loss as possible. We want to take away some of the tough things that come with losing a loved one, so that families can focus on the most important - love.

Story

For this year, our Bracken Ghyll Golf Club captains have chosen the Sue Ryder 'Manorlands' hospice in Oxenhope, near Keighley.

To raise funds for this very worthy cause, a group of 7 of us will undertake a 72 hole golfing challenge at the club on Wednesday 28th June. It will be an early start with sunrise at 0437 and sunset at 2144, but we should have ample time to complete the challenge. We will all walk over 16 miles whilst trying to play golf at the same time!!

'Manorlands' hospice provides support for people who are living with a terminal illness, a neurological condition or who have lost someone - and are there when it matters most. It costs around £13,000 per day to keep the hospice running.

Bracken Ghyll is proud to be supporting this local charity which has a link with some of our club members. All donations, no matter how big or small, will be greatly received.

Each team member has set up their own Just Giving page and will be part of a 'team' consolidated on the Bracken Ghyll Manorlands page. Please donate to whichever team member you choose. I thank you in advance for your very kind donation.

It would be lovely gesture for any members who would like to walk round with us to do so, but we really would not expect you at 4:30am!!

Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can get the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters.
