Story
It would seem in my 39th year I am having my midlife crisis and as I have too many kids to justify a sports car I thought I should perhaps do some silly events!
So this year I am doing 2 half marathons (Richmond and Reading), Richmond Marathon and Thames Trot Ultra Marathon (47 miles) ! As this seems exceptionally silly I thought it would be sensible to raise a bit of cash for a charity that is very close to my heart.
Most of you will know that our first daughter was born at 33 weeks after some very serious complications for both her and Vic via emergency C-Section. She then spent just over a month NICU (Buscot) in Royal Berks Hospital and had a tendency to stop breathing!!
During that time the work that BIBS does was intrinsic to Elizabeth still being alive today as an amazing but completely bonkers 7 year old.
I will be doing all these events this year (subject to any injuries- I am nearly 40) but the main event for BIBS is Reading Half on the 14th April.
I massively appreciate the support and anything you can give as I put myself through a significant amount of pain to raise funds for the spectacular charity that makes a huge difference to the lives of new born babies and their families.
Babies in Buscot Support (BIBS) raise funds to give sick and premature newborns at the RBH the best possible start in life.
The charity is run by parents that have had a baby spend time on Buscot Ward. That is why they care so deeply, and want to make the experience for all babies admitted to Buscot Ward and their families the best it can possibly be.
BIBS work focuses in 4 main areas of activity: providing Support, raising Awareness, improving Facilities & funding life-saving Equipment!
