Story
I am 14 years old and recently began working towards my bronze Duke of Edinburgh award. For the physical part of the award, I decided to challenge myself and walk a sponsored marathon (26 miles) over the South Downs for Raystede, as I am very passionate about animal welfare. I am being supported on this walk by my parents and Aunty who are training with me.
Raystede is a charity that aims to give animals a better life through rehoming, rehabilitation and sanctuary, and give people the support and knowledge they need to treat animals with care and respect. Raystede is Sussex’s biggest animal welfare charity, with nearly 70 years’ experience of caring for and rehoming animals. Uniquely, we care for a huge range of animals - from dogs, cats and donkeys to rabbits, parrots and alpacas.
