So, 2 middle-aged men are having a mid-life crisis!

Last year, in an attempt to scratch the itch of adventure, we bought at auction, without seeing it first, a 1999 Fiat Panda 4x4 shipped over from Italy, and are going to race it across the Sahara Desert in Morocco in March 2024.

Panda Raid is a group 400 of old Fiat Pandas from all over Europe, crossing the desert in a race with no GPS or Sat Nav, just a good old fashioned compass and rally book (far more basic than a map) and a spade to dig ourselves out when we get stuck in the sand.

Sleeping in tents beside our car at night, it's a 3,000km dash across the desert in various stages from the northern port of Nador, down to Sidi Ali near the south eastern border with Algeria then back up and, if we don't get lost, break down, crash or get bitten by a scorpion we hope to reach the finish at the western coastal town of Mehdia.

Whilst a huge adventure for us we are also hoping to do some good. We are looking to raise money for Alzheimer Research and also, via our linked page, the Moroccan Earthquake appeal, as we explore their wonderful country that was hit by an earthquake last year.

Few of us can not have been touched by Alzheimer's. It is a heartbreaking disease that is so cruel to all effected by it. Please give what you can so that we can help Alzheimer's Research make the breakthrough in reaching a cure that is so needed.
