Story
On Behalf of William Baker;
I am running The South Downs 100 miles, in support of the new club house for Stamford Rugby!
The run is a point to point, trail race through the beautiful South Downs National Park. It will begin at the stunning location of Queen Elizabeth Country Park in Petersfield, before travelling along the picturesque Staunton Way, Monarchs Way and South Downs Way before finishing over the iconic Beachy Head cliffs of Eastbourne. It is a truly epic route with lots of flat running in the first half before hitting the hillier sections in the second. It has a real mixture of terrains to keep it interesting and some really, stunning scenery throughout.
I am raising money on behalf of Stamford Rugby Club, to support the build of a new facility to benefit the local community.
From the research with people living in the local area, we believe the new clubhouse will be a hub for the local community with it extending its offering way beyond rugby. It will be used for a diverse range of activities from coffee mornings for the elderly, to Mums' and babies mornings, to arts hobbies and music classes, to key events. The club is also partnering with local charities who will use the new clubhouse.
