Peterborough's Big Sleep Out

Fundraising for Light Project Peterborough
While learning about Courageous Advocacy within school, we have looked at how we can help those less fortunate than ourselves, with a focus on how we can help people who do not have a home. Last year, we made bivvys out of crisp packets to help people stay warm and dry when sleeping outside and this year we are trying something different. A group of staff from the William Alvey will be taking part in Peterborough's Big Sleep Out on Friday 14th March 2025. We hope this will inspire the children at the William Alvey and possibly even hold our own sleep out at school to raise money for homeless people in our local area. The event in Peterborough helps raise awareness and funds for two charities: Light Project Peterborough and the Posh Foundation who both help the community in a positive way.
Between 1st October 2023 and 30th September 2024, 979 people came to LPP's Garden House seeking support. 546 of these were supported to move off the streets and into accommodation.
