Story
This December I will be running a 106km event in the Snowy Mountains - my biggest challenge yet - to raise AUD 10,000 (GBP 5,300) for impactful charities selected by the Life You Can Save. Selene and I are matching donations (up to a total of AUD 5,000) - thank you!
For all UK supporters, please use this JustGiving page so that your donations are tax free. If you are an Australian supporter, please head over to this website: https://www.mycause.com.au/p/313606/running-100km-for-the-transform-lives-fund
I found out about the Fistula Foundation when listening to the Life You Can Save by Peter Singer during my long runs - highly recommend and freely available. I learned that it only requires GBP 500 to provide life-changing surgery to a woman who suffers obstetric fistula, a devastating childbirth injury that leaves women incontinent, humiliated and often shunned by their communities.
And a little about the race itself and my training...
The Kosci 100 is in the Snowy Mountains in Australia, is actually 106km (cheeky!) and has an elevation gain of 3,500m. I’m currently running about 80-100km per week, including lots of hills and stairs. The training appears to be paying off with a surprise 3rd place finish at the Australian Alpine Ascent 22km in March.
