London to Brighton Walk, 1 July 2023
On the banks of the River Deben, Suffolk Wildlife Trust has the chance to create a uniquely special place for nature, which we are calling Martlesham Wilds. This is a rare chance to create a new nature reserve for Suffolk. Please help us if you can.

Story

Suffolk wildlife trust have set themselves the goal of raising £1 million to purchase an area of farmland bordering the River Debden and convert it into a brand new nature reserve. https://www.suffolkwildlifetrust.org/martlesham-wilds

To help with their fundraising I'll be accompanying my good friend Ewan Morgan (who's genius idea this all was) in attempting to walk from London to Brighton in a day. This 50 mile journey should take about 17 hours. This is an incredibly poorly planned idea, but I'm hoping the thought of missing the last train home and having to pay for a taxi will be enough to get us over the finish line.

We estimate we'll run out of conversation topics after about 45 minutes. As such, for each £10 donation you can have the choice of picking a conversation starter or song that we will either discuss or play on our journey. If you'd like to submit one of these with your donation, please post it in the just giving comment box.

The opportunity to give a significant area of land back to nature doesn't come around often so any money you can spare to help them towards their target would be hugely appreciated!
