Story
I'm running the 2024 Royal Parks Half Marathon for Mind - a wonderful charity who help so many people.
Why am I running for Mind?
1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem in any given year and I am 1 of those people - I have struggled with Post Traumatic Stress for the last 10 years after my father was killed in a failed robbery in Nairobi, Kenya.
I run because it helps me deal with my challenges and I have decided to fundraise as I have also been helped by organisations like Mind.
Some examples about what Mind do...
- Mind answered more than 130,000 queries across 2022 and 2023.
- Mind's mental health information was accessed 23.3 million times in 2022 to 2023
- 17,100 people signed up to Mind's side by side online support community
How this fundraising might help
£20 - could run the online peer support community for an hour, helping people connect with others and feel less alone.
£40 - could help Mind's Infoline answer calls, providing someone with vital support and information about help available for them.
£50 - could help Mind campaign for better mental health services from the Government, ensuring people get the support they need, as soon as they need it.
£100 could pay the cost of a Mind Infoline or Legal Line advisor for a whole day.
