Fundraising for Action Medical Research
Myself and 3 teammates from my football team will be taking on a triathlon style event in Snowdonia National Park called Race the Sun. We have decided to take on this challenge not only to push ourselves but to also raise money for the amazing charity that this event is all about, Action Medical Research. The charity provides funding for vital research to help sick and disabled babies and children helping to give them the best start to life they deserve.
The event is in Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), and consists of a 39-mile bike ride with a total ascent of 1,883ft, followed by a 9-mile hike along the Llanberis pass to the summit of Snowdon. Ending with a 2-mile canoe on the lake of Lynn Padarn. This is not a relay event, all 4 of us will be completing each section together.
Our training is well underway for this tough challenge! Any donations for this deserving charity are massively appreciated by ourselves and more importantly, the children and families affected by the illnesses and diseases that the medical research looks to cure and prevent.
