Trek Sahara 2025 · 20 March 2025 ·

A group of Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice supporters are taking on the journey of a lifetime by trekking across the Sahara Desert in March 2025 to raise money for the charity.

Story

I am raising money for Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice with my neighbour Jo Herrington, in memory of her husband Pete, who very sadly left us nearly 10 years ago. We felt it was important to do something to mark this occasion. When this trek was advertised we thought it was a perfect opportunity to raise money for a wonderful charity that helped Pete in the final months of his life.

This trek is going to be quite a challenge both physically and mentally (and hygienically!) We will be trekking through the Sahara for four days sleeping in tents or under the stars. There will be no washing facilities and we will be walking through sand, dried river beds, over sand dunes and navigating rocky terrain all in the blistering heat.

We like a challenge and we know that Pete will be up there cheering us on.

All we ask is that you donate a little something to help us on our way.

Thank you

Will and Jo

We acknowledge with grateful thanks your donation towards the work of the Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice.

Every year we care for nearly 3,000 people with a life-limiting illness and their carers, family and friends. We support the whole family as well as the patient at what can be a very difficult time. All our care is provided free of charge.

Your generous support will help us work with more patients and their families when they need us - now or in the future. Thank you.
