Story
In September 2023 we received the devastating news that my Dad (Alan) had been diagnosed with a very rare form of leukaemia (Chronic Neutrophilic Leukaemia). We were told his only chance of survival was a Stem Cell Transplant. He started chemotherapy straight away and the Anthony Nolan team swung into full action searching for a donor. Myself and my siblings were all tested but the best match was found to be from a 31 year old man in Germany. My Dad had his transplant in June of this year at Leicester Royal Infirmary with guidance from Guys in London and is currently doing amazingly well. We await day 100 post transplant for his bone marrow biopsy to hopefully tell us he is now cancer free.
I am running the London Marathon in April 2025 for Anthony Nolan to raise much needed funds so that they can continue their world-leading stem cell register, their groundbreaking cell and gene therapy research and continue their expertise in stem cell transplants. This means they can continue to help four patients a day in need of a transplant, giving these people another chance to live.
Our world literally changed overnight and it can happen to anybody.
Please support us in our huge effort to try and help Anthony Nolan help as many people as possible. Thankyou for any donation you can afford to give it will be greatly appreciated and will spur me on in my marathon training efforts.
