Story
On July 1st and 2nd I am taking on a HUGE challenge by walking from Whitby Abbey to my home in Market Weighton, over the course of two days - which results in over 100km.
In 2020 I lost my grandmother who had been diagnosed with Dementia and since then I have been working towards doing something to raise money for this great cause.
I have managed to get a group of friends and family to join me on smaller sections of the walk to keep me company and keep me motivated throughout these 10-12hr days. In no particular order my companions are, Carl Turnbull, Kate Snell, Leanne Wright, Joanne Rosser with Jonny Leng and Harvey Reed, Tom & Meg Fewlass, and Lesley and Andy Suggitt
Day one I will start at Whitby Abbey and walk across the Yorkshire Moors through Sleights, Goathland and Pickering, day one will be over 45km of walking. Day two I will be mostly following the Yorkshire Wolds Way and will be passing through Thixendale, Millington and Londesborough, day two will be over 55km of walking.
I am asking for your support to help me reach my fundraising goal for Alzheimer's Society. Every donation counts, no matter how small. Your contribution will go towards providing vital support and care for those affected by dementia and to help fund research into finding a cure for this devastating disease.
Thank you for your support and for helping me make a difference. Together, we can help find a cure for dementia and support those affected by the disease.
"Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice."
