Story

Thank-you for visiting our Just Giving Page. This year the students at Whickham School have voted Metabolic Support UK as one of the charties to support during our Annual Charity Week.

The selection of this charity was championed by one of our own students. Alfie's very personal story touched the hearts of us all as he described the devastation cased to his family by a rare metabolic disorder. At 3yrs old his baby sister passed away after an agonising fight with Alpers Disease - a disease that has no cure and no way of slowing it down. Metabolic Support UK helps to provide patients and families with bespoke support tailored to their needs at all life stages.

Staff and Students will be taking part in a range of fundraising activities throughout our Charity Week (23rd – 27th October 2023) to raise money for their elected charities. Every penny counts towards helping to improve the lives of people living with Inherited Metabolic Disorders – so we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support and donations.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe – and JustGiving will never sell them on or send you unwanted emails. Once you donate, your money goes directly to Metabolic Support UK.
