Story
At the end of 2023, Mary came in to the care of Wellingborough & Rushden Cats Protection after being dumped in a local country park. It was clear she was in a bad way and believed that she was pregnant.
Mary was booked in to be spayed and during the procedure, it was found that she had cysts on her ovaries and fluid in her uterus, not pregnant. With lots of care and attention from her volunteer fosterer, Mary made good progress in recovering.
But that wasn't the end of Mary's woes as she developed ulcers on her eyes and swollen eyelids. Her fosterer took her back to the vets and it was then discovered that her eyelashes had turned inwards and required another operation to put them right.
Poor Mary has had a really horrible end to 2023 but thankfully she is doing well and hoping to find her forever home in the New Year.
The procedures and care that Mary has received has come to nearly £1500. The full amount has been covered by us, here at Wellingborough & Rushden Cats Protection. The care of the cats that come to us is our primary concern and we will happily foot the bill for Marys treatments. It does take a toll on our Branch though as we are all volunteers, and have to raise the money for procedures like Marys ourselves.
We really do appreciate your help and generosity in supporting our campaign and any help you can give us, is greatly appreciated.
Any money raised over our target will go towards helping the cats and kittens that come in to our care.
