We support homeless LGBTQ+ young people to ensure they're safe and supported

Story

Get ready, Salford! Weaste is about to make history with its very first Pride event! 🌈 Join us as we celebrate love, diversity, and community at Weaste Pride, while raising vital funds for the Albert Kennedy Trust (AKT), an incredible charity supporting LGBTQ+ youth who are facing homelessness or hostile environments.

This vibrant event will be packed with music, entertainment, and activities for all ages, bringing our community together in a joyful celebration of pride and solidarity. Every donation raised during Weaste Pride will go directly to AKT, helping them continue their life-changing work.

Why Support AKT?

No young person should face homelessness or rejection because of who they are. AKT provides safe homes, support, and hope to LGBTQ+ youth, empowering them to build better futures. Your contribution can truly make a difference.

Coming out, or being outed as LGBTQ+ can lead to young people being made homeless. This is the reality for 77% of the young people akt supports. We proudly offer safe homes and better futures for LGBTQ+ people aged 16-25.
