Story

We’re walking on fire!

To raise essential funds for our swimmers to attend a swim camp, brave volunteers from the Witney & District Swimming Club will be walking across burning hot embers in a sponsored fire walk organised by the Rotary Club of Witney.

A group of 20 competitive swimmers aged 12-18 will be attending a swim camp in Crete in October 2024. We’re trying to raise £7,500 as a contribution to the total cost of the camp (£34,000).

The swim camp will give our swimmers:

• the opportunity to have a professional training experience.

• to develop skills to help maximize their full potential.

• the opportunity to become more independent by being away from home.

• a chance to build and make new friendships and experience being part of a team.

• a unique experience that they’ll remember for a long time to come.

All funds raised by W&DSC will be directly used for the swim camp with the added bonus that the Rotary Club will contribute to the total amount raised by allocating the Gift Aid to W&DSC.
