Wayne's half marathon for The Shakespeare Hospice

Shakespeare Marathon & Half Marathon · 21 April 2024 ·
I'm raising funds for The Shakespeare Hospice, a cause that holds immense significance for me.
My mum, Louise Weatherhead, received incredible support from their team during her battle with cancer, and our family is forever grateful for that. Not only was she cared for, but Louise also dedicated many years as a volunteer, making the hospice a cause close to her heart.
Beyond my personal connection, The Shakespeare Hospice is a vital local charity, touching the lives of countless individuals in our community. It's a beacon of support, and giving back becomes crucial because, let's face it, everyone in our local area knows someone positively impacted by this organisation.
Adding to the gravity of this, our community recently lost a remarkable figure, my fellow golfer and friend Francis Prentice MBE, a founding member of The Shakespeare Hospice and President of the Stratford Golf Club. His significant involvement in the charity makes running this half marathon even more meaningful, as I strive to honour his legacy and contribute to the ongoing impact of this invaluable organisation.
