I am continuing to raise money for this amazing charity to help research why Scoliosis affects so many throughout the world!

In 2019 our life was turned upside down when our 12 year old daughter was diagnosed with Idiopathic Scoliosis. This aggressive, debilitating condition had firmly taken hold of our daughter with a 74 degree curvature of her spine. One of the sad realities was that she, my wife or I were unaware of her deformity. Why? She was pain free and we had long since needed to dress or bath her so we never saw her back!

Over months the deformity grew, as did her pain when her internal organs were forcefully pressed out of their usual places.

Six months after her diagnosis she was forced to go under the surgeon scalpel and skilled hands in an attempt to return some normality to her spine.

For five hours my wife and I waited anxiously to hear if the operation had been a success, knowing in our hearts the potential problems which could exists operating so close to the spinal cord and numerous major organs. But, the operation was a complete success and one week later we were able to leave hospital and start the slow recuperation at home!

To raise awareness of this terrible condition and money to help support the research I completed a mammoth fundraising event in April 2022 where I walked from the place of diagnosis to the where her operation took place. This was a total distance of 76.9 miles. The added difficulty was as a military veteran medically discharged due to a lower leg injury I find walking difficult, but to add an extra element of difficulty I walked every step backwards to help raise awareness of Scoliosis. The event was called 'Lets reverse this together'.

This was a Huge success and raised over £10.000, but wanting more money to be I have started this page.

In 2025 my book 'Soldier of Conscience' will be published worldwide by Pen and Sword Publications. I have pledged every penny of my book royalties will be donated to this charity.

This is just a UK problem, but a worldwide condition that effects so many, mainly children each year. Mine, and your money will go into research to find out why it happens and hopefully stop it. My family and I really don't want anyone to experience what we experienced in 2019 and any money you can donate will be greatly received.
