Story
We have decided to take on the challenge to ride the Way of the Roses, a 170 mile route coast to coast from Morecambe to Bridlington in memory of Geoff Mellor.
Geoff was an incredibly active man who loved a challenge. He enthusiastically tackled a number local and more extensive cycling routes and was passionate about getting out into the outdoors. When he passed away unexpectedly in 2019 after a major stroke, we were all left heartbroken and shocked.
The Stroke Association played a huge role in Geoff life, aiding his father's recovery and rehabilitation from multiple strokes and supporting his mother to provide this care. While Geoff didn't get the chance to rebuild his life after his stroke, the Stroke Association makes sure that many others do.
They provide specialist support, fund critical research and campaign to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support to rebuild their lives. For more information about how the money you donate will help, visit https://www.stroke.org.uk/
This year marks 10 years since Geoff completed the Way of the Roses himself and this event will see a group of his close friends and family complete the route in his honour. Wish us luck!
