Fundraising for Club Cricket Organisation
On 27 February 2025 I'll be taking part in the SleepOut Event at the Home of Cricket, spending the night under one of the stands to raise awareness of homelessness and fundraise for charities tackling community issues through the power of sport.
The funds raised will go to the Gandon Prodger Legacy Fund (GPLF), established to honour the late Simon Prodger and Nick Gandon. Nick, who taught me at school, was an inspiration to me then and has continued to inspire through his fight against pancreatic cancer over the past year.
The GPLF aims to raise £500,000 in 2025 to support four beneficiary charities which use the power of sport to transform lives in the UK and internationally: The East Africa Character Development Trust, The Alsama Project, The Saracens Foundation, and The Club Cricket Charity.
The money raised will support projects that benefit disadvantaged young Kenyans living in slums, help young refugees in Lebanon build the skills they need to thrive off and on the cricket field, assist prisoners through the Saracens Foundation in the UK, and use sport to integrate and support recently-arrived refugees in the UK, including those who have fled Afghanistan.
