Story
When Rolo came into our care, his initial vet exam revealed he had dirty ears. The vet decided the best course of treatment for Rolo was to begin some ear drops. Unfortunately, after a couple of weeks treatment, his condition remained unchanged and so further investigations were undertaken to help us get to the root of the problem. A biopsy was carried out and further medication prescribed, but again sadly there was no improvement in clearing Rolo’s ear problem. Rolo’s biopsy results revealed he had inflamed polyps, a condition where small growths of connective tissue are in the external ear canal. To help Rolo the vet decided that he should undergo a procedure known as a total ear canal ablation (TECA). Having undergone the procedure and been in our care for over 100 days, Rolo is now currently enjoying time with one of our foster carers until he is adopted.
Rolo is just a snapshot of the number of cases that will come into our care this year and the cost of his treatment and surgery alone was £2,500. Can you help us today by donating to our appeal, so that we can continue to help cats like Rolo who come into our care? We do not receive any government funding and are totally reliant on donations to help make a better life for cats. We appreciate times are tight and the minimum donation set by JustGiving is £2. Anything you can donate to help, will be hugely appreciated, whether it’s £2, £5 or £10, every penny and pound helps. Please donate if you can.
