Story
To honour and remember Simon we have invented Walk4Woody. This year it involves a gruelling 15 mile hike in the peak district. Ticking off Kinder Scout, Kinder Downfall, Kinder Reservoir and Jacob’s Ladder all on one walk!
Please give generously to help encourage our team of walkers.
For those of you who don't know Simon's story he was a true humanitarian who spent his life helping others and he was tragically struck down and died from a stroke in September 2020
Simon was a full time paramedic and part time vicar, on top of this he gave his spare time to several charities at home and abroad as well as volunteering at the local prison and when he died he donated his organs to save other people. He really was an everyday hero.
SARAID was a charity that was very important to him, he was a member for over 10 years and deployed as their team medic. They are a Search and Rescue charity that deploy all around the world to help people after disaster strikes. Their last deployment was to Turkey this year after the devastating earthquake hit. They run 100% on volunteers which is great. All of your donations go towards deployment costs, helping SARAID to be there when people need them.
SARAID have also been incredibly supportive to us as a family since we lost Simon and that is something I will always be grateful for ❤️
