Story
A group of us are cycling from Hope in The Peak District back to South Reston in Lincolnshire over 3 days. We range from 8 years old to early 70’s and between us all we hope to complete 119 miles. 4 of us will be using E-bikes as we need the assistance on those hills these days but regardless it will still be a challenge for us and for me that means that I can hopefully complete the full challenge. Suffering with stage 4 incurable breast cancer with liver metastasis has its own challenges but I am determined to not only take part this year but to complete it as well, just as long as I’m feeling well enough.
I am a patient on The Hope for Tomorrow mobile unit, called Elaine so I know how important it is to raise money for charities such as this one and with cancer affecting 1 in 2 people these days, the pressure to treat cancer patients is forever increasing. To have more mobile units like this one would be a huge help. Elaine visits Louth twice a week, Skegness twice a week and Spaulding once a week to give treatment to many patients such as myself.
Thank you kindly in advance xx
Cancer treatment causes sheer fatigue, it’s like someone has taken your batteries out. When you’re faced with a cancer diagnosis, time is crucial. How can people spend more time doing the things they love, with those they love, whilst still getting the life-saving treatment they need?
Hope for Tomorrow build and maintain mobile cancer care units, which change the lives of thousands of people suffering from cancer in England.
Will you help me drive cancer care forward?
