Story
Volunteering Matters - celebrating 60 years!
For over 60 years, Volunteering Matters has been running volunteering projects across the UK. We’ve come a long way since 1962. And it’s all thanks to every single volunteer, mentor, supporter and partner who has shaped the incredible change and impact volunteers can make over the last 60 years.
Over this last year, we have been celebrating the incredible work of our volunteers through activities, events, and fundraisers - from Golf Days and Kiltwalks, to Garden Parties and Go-kart Derbys.
Diamond Day - 25th January 2023
As our 60th year comes to a close, we will be marking the occasion with one final big day of celebration - our Diamond Day.
Taking place on the 25th January 2023 on Burns Night, our staff, volunteers, and communities will be celebrating Diamond Day by delivering an unexpected surprise to their fellow volunteers or colleagues as a show of recognition.
We will be sending our gifts and cards, shouting about them in the local media, organising dinners and parties, and so much more to warm as many diamond hearts as possible.
In London, we will be hosting a Hidden Diamond Gala Charity Fundraiser, a unique and magical evening of incredible food, entertaining art, culture, special performances, and, of course, friends, as we join our incredible ‘Hidden Diamonds’ around the country. You can purchase a ticket to the attend the gala here.
Support us with a donation
As well as celebrating our volunteers and achievements, we are looking to the future, challenging ourselves to grow our work and explore new ways of building stronger communities. Your donation will allow us to keep working with communities to make a positive change through volunteering and social action.
If you are unable to join us at our Hidden Diamond Gala but would love to contribute to our celebration, please donate and help sponsor places at the event for some very special and deserving volunteers who otherwise wouldn't have been able to attend.
Any donation, big or small, is gratefully received.
Thank you.
