Fundraising for Muscular Dystrophy UK
Whether it be providing round the clock support and care to those affected by Muscular Dystrophy or seeking to provide comfort to their families and friends in their times of need; MDUK is a charity with a wonderful cause, upholding some amazing values that we here at Vizion are proud to be supporting this year!
Each year, we seek to support different Global and UK charities, running fundraising events throughout the year, in and around our offices. This year we wanted to show some support to our beloved Sarah Carter who - although she also faces the challenges that MD brings - remains positive and outgoing, cracking jokes and keeping a cool air about her. She truly is an asset to the team and an inspiration to us all!
“I know the struggles that not only Sarah has, but the millions of others living with MD have to endure on a daily basis. I am not the fittest of people, but I have the ability to walk unaided or without a struggle, and I’m not going to let that go to waste! I want to do this to support the likes of Sarah and personally to get a little fitter and lose a few pounds” - Sam R.
“Recently, my teammate Sarah made me aware of the reality of muscular dystrophy and the profound impact it has on people's lives. This newfound awareness has motivated me to join efforts in raising awareness and supporting research” - Rosie G.
“As much as I perhaps need reminding that I’m no longer 25 - I do enjoy walking and want to keep pounding at my own mental health! My main motivations for doing this are for others. I want to raise awareness of the condition as well as show support and morale to others. It's so rewarding to see!” - Robin G.
“I’d personally like to see how many steps I’m capable of doing within a month, to get fitter along the way and setting a challenge for myself. My main reason is to help this charity for my teammate and others that are going through this battle with MD. The more people that are aware of this cause the better and what a way to raise money for this is to do 500,000 steps each in a month. It really adds perspective and makes you realise, when doing it, just how lucky we are and doing this will help those people who aren’t so fortunate ” - Laura S.
