Story
I took up running around 11 years ago, to try and be a decent role model for the kids. I love it, but I'm not very good at it. I really struggle with half marathons - you can imagine my delight at being "gifted" an entry to the 2024 Edinburgh Half Marathon for my birthday back in August.
I had intended to just run it, without any real purpose, hoping I'd maybe sneak a PB on a relatively downhill route.
However, life throws things at you. Sometimes they're not very nice things, but they make you think and reflect and make you want to do something about it. Already in 2024, our school has lost two amazing wee girls who gave us so much in their short lives. Both of their families received support and care from a service called Children's Hospices Across Scotland - CHAS.
Given the sector I work in, I know of lots of families who have accessed both Rachel House and Robin House, and my support of these services is long overdue.
So, with that in mind, I am proud to share with you that I'll be running in support of Children's Hospices Across Scotland on May 26th.
If you are able to either donate, or share this link, I'd be very grateful. https://www.justgiving.com/page/vinny-runs-for-chas
Love and mercy to you all.
