Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm going to be shaving off my hair and beard on October 7th in solidarity with the mothers who are currently having to shave theirs and their children's heads in Palestine due to the lack of access to water that is being provided to them by the state of Israel who have total control over their supply. They aren't given enough water to hydrate, cook, wash, and also keep their hair clean so they are having to take these drastic measures.

As of August 85,000 tonnes of explosives had been dropped on an area the size of East London. This can be compared to the Hiroshima disaster which was a mere 15,000 tonnes or the 20,000 tonnes dropped on London during the Blitz.

This so called "conflict" didn't begin a year ago, in fact it started in 1948 with the Nakba nearly 75 years before. 75 years ago the area now known as Israel and the Palestinian Territories was handed over to the UN by the British occupiers.

That's over 5 and a half times Hiroshima in the space of a year, not to mention since the Nakba or the attacks to other neighbouring countries more recently. This doesn't even account for the treatment of the Palestinians in what South Africa have declared in the International Court of Justice at the Hague as being an apartheid state and committing genocide.

Israel's ground and air campaign in Gaza has killed more than 41,700 people, with the majority of identified victims being women and children, amounting to about 10 times its count of losses in all previous Gaza attacks since 2008. A recent estimate in the medical journal The Lancet suggested that the Israel has actually killed as many as 186,000 people since October 7th as the first figure only accounts for those recovered and identified from the rubble.

I'm going to donate my hair itself to The Little Princess Trust who provide free real hair wigs to children and young people, up to 24 years, who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions.

My friend recommended that I also support the charity ISRA-UK. They're small compared to some but 100% of your donations go to the cause and they use gift aid for overheads and processing fees etc.

They've been in Palestine for 40 years, in Gaza since the 2016 blockade, and they work in Lebanon too. Their partners on the ground have been getting as much as they can into Gaza since October, food, clothing, bedding, toiletries, hygiene packs, sanitary towels for women, etc. Currently they're delivering portable water to families in refugee camps within Gaza even though it's getting harder and harder to do.

Show some support and let's raise some money for a good cause 💓💓💓
