Story
6 swimmers, 26 miles, 1 worthy cause.
This June, a team of 6 amazing people from the British Army Recruiting Group will swim the channel to raise vital funds for the Army Benevolent Fund – the Army’s national charity.
Swimming the English Channel is not for the faint hearted. More people have climbed Mount Everest than have swum the Channel!
Our aim is to raise a minimum of £5,000 for this very worthy cause.
Having trained for nearly a year for this event, we are now weeks away! Long hours in the pool and gym, lots of cold water swims, jelly fish stings and lots of supporting each other with vasiline and laughs 🤣
Since its formation in 1944, the charity has kept its promise to provide vital support to soldiers, former soldiers and their families in times of need. Receiving no government funding, the charity relies solely on the generosity of its supporters.
By supporting our Channel swim and donating to the Army Benevolent Fund, you can make a real difference in the lives of others. Together, we can ensure that soldiers past and present receive the support they deserve.
Follow our journey as we train and prepare for this challenge and show your support by making a donation below. Any amount, no matter how small would be hugely appreciated xxx
Thank you for your generosity and for swimming – sorry, standing – with us.
