As part of the Business in the Community Literacy Taskforce, I'm raising funds to support vital literacy work in the Bradford and Keighley areas. Literacy transforms the futures of children, and Chapter One works with businesses to provide one-to-one reading support in early years - the years when literacy can make the biggest difference to future success.

We currently need to fund at least another six classes who are waiting to be matched to reading volunteers in Keighley, and would appreciate any support you can offer. Some examples of how your funds could be put to good use...

£10 could provide an enhanced DBS check to one volunteer enabling them to read with a child for a year.

£50 could provide a set of noise-cancelling headphones for a classroom of 10 children, who’ll use them for their weekly online sessions.

£100 could provide five 1:1 online reading sessions for one child.

£450 could provide 1:1 online reading sessions for one child for an entire academic year.
