As you may know, my wonderful sister Sam was diagnosed with Breast Cancer last summer. I've been absolutely amazed about how strong, resilient, caring and considerate Sam has been to everyone else, despite being such a low and scary time dealing with the diagnosis, mastectomy surgery and heartbreakingly having to stop breastfeeding Jackson. She really is a selfless superwoman, and has taken everything in her stride so far.

The next stage was for Sam to start her Chemo treatment on 5th December, and with it she would lose her hair. She's already had to endure so much by herself - so I pledged to stand by her side and Brave the Shave with her so she is not alone.

We both love our long locks, but have decided to take the opportunity to take control and turn this into a positive by donating our long hair to The Little Princess Trust, to be made into children's wigs.

UPDATE

Sam has successfully completed her Chemo, and to mark the occasion before her Radiotherapy starts next month - I am finally actually Braving the Shave!

Sam has done brilliantly so far, and has documented her journey fantastically to raise awareness. Luckily (and rather stubbornly!) she has held onto her hair thanks to hours of gruelling Cold Caps 🥶 each Chemo session... but has lost her hair everywhere else - including eyebrows, eyelashes, nose hair, leg hair - but its a small price to pay to for completing the Chemo

So although Sam may resemble a slippery streamlined dolphin with a full head of hair - please join me in raising awareness and funds with this Brave The Shave Campaign!
