Story
This year, the National Paediatric Liver Service, located at CHI at Crumlin, is in need of a Fibroscan. This machine is a non-invasive method of detecting and staging both liver fibrosis and fat content of the liver. It will essentially replace a liver biopsy with a quick (less than five minutes), painless and safer procedure. It will be a vital tool in decreasing unnecessary invasive investigations and treatments, reducing clinical risk, and improving the timeliness of diagnosis and management avoidance of in-patient stays - something that every child and parent wants.
We need your help to support the purchase of this essential piece of equipment which will significantly benefit children, parents and frontline staff alike. This is your chance to support everyone in their goal to help all sick children in Ireland.
