Story
I’m thrilled to be running my very first marathon—the Brighton Marathon—in support of the Brompton Fountain. Running for this incredible cause adds so much meaning to this journey, and I couldn’t be more excited to take on this challenge in honor of Kerry and in memory of Freddie, building on my recent experience in the Royal Parks Half Marathon: Support Kerry and Honour Freddie—Running for the Brompton Fountain.
Freddie was born on 26th June 2018, a beautiful baby despite a serious heart condition discovered during Kerry’s pregnancy. The next six weeks were incredibly challenging, filled with surgeries, life support, and intense treatments. During this time, the Brompton Fountain provided Kerry with accommodation, allowing her to stay close to Freddie, cherish precious moments, and create memories she will always hold dear.
Tragically, Freddie passed away on 10th August 2018, at just six weeks old, in Kerry’s arms. Kerry is immensely grateful for the Brompton Fountain’s support during that difficult period, and the foundation continues to be a source of strength for her.
This marathon is a way for me to honor Freddie’s memory and raise funds for the Brompton Fountain, which offers essential support to families with critically ill children at Royal Brompton Hospital. Every donation, large or small, will make a difference in sustaining this vital work. If you’d like, you can sponsor a small amount for each of the marathon’s 26 miles—every mile counts toward helping these families.
If you’re able to donate, please visit my fundraising page, and if you’d like to cheer me on, I’d love to see you along the marathon route!
Thank you for supporting this meaningful cause.
