Help Sudanese Students Pursue Education at UWC Despite War

Imagine waking up every day in a place where war has destroyed everything. Since April 15, 2023, the war in Sudan has disrupted the lives of millions.
Schools are closed, food and water are scarce, and healthcare is almost nonexistent. Families are fleeing for their lives, with over 10 million people displaced, including 2.2 million who have left the country and 7 million who are now homeless within Sudan.
19 million children are out of school and facing violence and fear every day. Women and girls are suffering, facing sexual violence and targeted attacks. This crisis is one of the largest in the world, and the change makers of tomorrow need your support .
Your donation will support future change makers to attend United World Colleges (UWCs). Every dollar you donate will directly benefit the UWC Sudan 2025 & 2026 Cohort, helping cover their educational expenses and giving them the tools they need to succeed. It will go towards their travel fees, tuition fees, living expenses, and support them to be integrated in their new environments.
Your support can help these Sudanese students seize this life-changing opportunity. By donating, you are investing in their future and contributing to a more just and peaceful world.
These students are not just beneficiaries of your kindness; they are future leaders who will bring positive change to their communities and beyond.
Funds raised through this campaign will go through UWC Sudan’s sub-account, managed by the UWC International Office in London.
- First Target: $4,000
- Second Target: $10,000
- Third Target: $20,000
Even small donations can have a huge impact. Just $1 a month can help change a life and contribute to a more peaceful and just world.
UWC (United World Colleges) is a group of 18 international boarding schools that offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. UWC’s mission is to unite people, nations, and cultures through education for peace and a sustainable future.
At UWC, around 200 students from all over the world live and study together. They engage in meaningful conversations, learn about each other’s cultures, discover new hobbies, and serve their local communities. Many UWC graduates go on to attend the world’s leading universities on full scholarships. UWC was nominated for the 2022 Nobel Peace Prize for its efforts to make the world a more just and peaceful place. Learn more.
UWC Sudan National Committee is a volunteer-run organization that selects exceptional students from Sudan. Since 2012, we have nominated over 40 Sudanese students, including refugees, to attend various UWC schools on full and partial scholarships. Our National Committee is operated entirely by dedicated volunteers. Learn more.
