Story
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem.
Asalamalakium wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu. I have partnered with IDRF, one of the top 100 charities in Canada, to raise funds in support of emergency relief for our brothers and sisters in Afghanistan.
With the conflict spanning decades, Afghanistan has struggled with many challenges including poverty, food insecurity, lack of access to clean water, gender-based violence, healthcare and widespread displacement.
Millions of people are displaced, forcing families to flee to other cities and countries to seek asylum. Adding to these difficulties, more than 471,000 Afghans have returned to their homeland from Pakistan after seeking refuge in the country during periods of conflict.
As this situation worsens, alarming rates of hunger continue to affect Afghan children, with 1 in 3 facing crisis levels of hunger this year. The recent 6.3 magnitude earthquake in Herat Province in October only heightened the urgent need for food and shelter in this emergency situation.
Right now, the people of Afghanistan are in dire need of humanitarian aid.
Here is how we are helping:
Ramadan Food Distributions
IDRF has been providing immediate relief to those in need of food aid and water in Afghanistan. While our ongoing efforts in food aid distribution continue to assist families in Kunduz and Mazar-I-Sharif. Additionally, we are also supporting Afghan refugees who have returned from Pakistan.
