Off the Block - SaTH Charity Abseil

Fundraising for The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust Charity
£2,098
raised of £2,000 target
Event: “Off the Block” Charity Abseil, on 21 September 2024
This could be your only opportunity to abseil off the top of the Ward Block at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and raise funds to improve the health of local people.

Story

Susie Sutton (Advanced Nurse Practitioner), Karen Jackman (Project Manager) and Mr Ali Ehsanullah (Urology Consultant) are representing the Urology Team and will be taking part in the abseil to raise funds for the Urology Charitable fund.

We hope to raise money towards the purchase of a specialist laser, to treat kidney stones and enlarged prostates.

The benefits of this machine are:

• Reduction in theatre waiting lists and waiting times for kidney stone treatment

• Improved patient experience

• Prevent patients needing to travel out of county for their care

• Support the delivery of the prostate pathway

Staff have said that “They are really excited for this development and the potential benefit it will give to our patients”

The urology multidisciplinary team are equally excited to be part of the abseil as it will provide them:

• A different view of their work place!

• A great team building opportunity

• Something to do on a free Saturday as it is too early for Christmas shopping!
