Story
Heya!! We are the University of Nottingham's Mountaineering Club, we are a group of like-minded young individuals who love the outdoors and everything mountaineering-related. Our mission is to complete the 24 Peaks Challenge in the Lake District, all while raising funds for Mountain Rescue England and Wales. The Lake District 24 challenge is a 2-day long challenge comprising over 30 miles of hiking and 12,500ft of total ascent over 24 Wainwright peaks.
What they have to say about themselves: "Mountain Rescue England and Wales are here to help the 47 volunteer mountain rescue teams and 8 regional bodies in England and Wales, deliver the best possible care to their casualties. We can’t do that without your support. Thanks to you, we can provide and maintain the highest standards in casualty care, technical rope rescue, and swift water rescue. And we can provide key items of kit to teams and help keep their vehicles on the road. And thanks to your legacies, we can plan for the future to ensure this valuable community service remains voluntary and free to the casualty."
Mountain Rescue England and Wales is an invaluable organization that plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety of outdoor enthusiasts like ourselves. These selfless individuals dedicate their time and expertise to provide vital assistance to those who find themselves in danger amidst our mountains. As lovers of the great outdoors, we recognize the significance of having a reliable rescue service that stands ready to respond to emergencies. By taking on the Lake District 24 Peaks Challenge, we aim not only to push our limits but also to contribute to the well-being of our fellow adventurers.
Your generous support and donations, no matter the size, will directly impact the capabilities of Mountain Rescue England and Wales, allowing them to continue their life-saving work.
Thank you for your support,
UoN Mountaineering Club 💚💛💚
