This Heart Month, The University of Manchester BHF centre is going red to raise money for lifesaving research.
Whether it's losing a loved one to a cardiac arrest or coping with the devastating impact of heart failure, too many of us have felt the pain of heart and circulatory diseases. We’re urging the nation to help us save and improve more lives by Going Red this February.
Our BHF funded research centre is powering lifesaving research into heart and circulatory diseases. At Manchester, we advance cardiovascular research by driving interdisciplinary collaboration to tackle cardiovascular disease. We focus on innovative strategies for prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and care, with an emphasis on combining cutting-edge technology and clinical expertise to deliver high-impact and translational discoveries. That’s why, for Heart Month 2025, our centre will go red by hosting events to and fundraising activities to raise vital funds for the BHF. These will include:
-2000 miles challenge (24th February - 24th March) - 26 of our researchers will aim cover 2000 miles by foot over 4-weeks, starting February the 24th.

-Roll the Dice & Win Big! (13th March, from 3:30 PM) – Start the fun early with Roll the Dice & Win Big before Quiz Night at 4:00 PM. Win amazing prizes have fun! The prizes are supported by Keep & Fancy Ltd, Thermo Fisher, and Stem Cell Technology.
-Education Talk — Keeping Heart Healthy at Every Age (23rd March - 2:30–4:00 PM) - Join Dr. Fadmida Mannan at Fo Guang Shan Temple for an insightful health talk. Free blood pressure and glucose tests will be available. Please support by spreading the word to your family or donating via this page!
-Bake sale & raffle for cardiovascular research (17th February)
