Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We (Matt & Phil – the Unlikely Pilgrims) are walking the 231km from Winchester Cathedral to Canterbury Cathedral in 7 days to raise money for Parkinson’s UK.
Parkinson's is a progressive neurological condition. This means that it causes problems in the brain and gets worse over time. People with Parkinson's don't have enough of the chemical dopamine in their brain because some of the nerve cells that make it have died.
Around 145,000 people live with Parkinson’s in the UK. And it's the fastest growing neurological condition in the world.
Parkinson’s UK is funding the right research into the most promising treatments, they get closer to a cure every day. Until then, they are helping people with the condition live as well as possible and fighting for fair treatment and better services.
Both of us have had close family and friends affected by this condition and are undertaking this walk to raise funds to assist this charity with the amazing work it does.
Please give whatever you can afford. We would also love your support with a few cheers along the journey or why not join us for one of the stages and do your bit to help whilst enjoying a day of fresh air, great history, and stunning scenery.
