Story
On the 23rd September, we, as a mighty group of Unleashed Women and some of their friends will be taking on the Windsor 10K Challenge and on the 24th September the terrifying heights of The London Abseil, Olympic Park to raise vital funds for The Hunger Project UK.
Rather than making small contributions at the periphery, The Hunger Project works at the heart of the problem by building self-reliance at the grassroots level, empowering women as key change agents, and forging effective partnerships with local government. With a thriving membership base, Unleashed Women is committed to funding women empowerment programmes and supporting girls through education and ending child marriage.
The collective aim of our community is that by 2027, we will be investing £250,000 a year in supporting women in our programme countries, via a network of engaged, purpose-driven UK-based Unleashed Women.
By supporting us with our fundraising efforts, you are investing in communities and helping them realise their own future, free from hunger and poverty. Together, we make change happen.
£25 could support a volunteer leader in South Asia to attend a leadership development training event. During these training events, volunteer leaders called Animators learn how to strengthen civil society, laying the groundwork for communities to thrive and coordinating efforts on the ground.
£50 could educate 10 mothers so that they can feed their babies and prevent malnutrition.
£100 could provide business and leadership training for a female entrepreneur living in a rural village in Malawi, allowing her to start an income generating social enterprise.
£300 could provide training and coaching for an elected female representative in India, allowing her to create more effective change in the communities which she serves.
