University of Birmingham Old Joe to RAH fun run

We are raising funds to provide means-tested bursaries to children and young people attending The National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain in 2026.

Story

The University of Birmingham’s University Music club is raising funds for the NYBBGB Bursary Fund. This will enable children and young people to attend the NYBBGB courses and concerts. Music education is important to the members of University Music and we are grateful for your support towards this great cause.

Members of the University Brass Band, past and present, have benefitted from NYBBGB courses, including current Principal Cornet, Luke Barker. Luke will be leading the band and other University Music members as they take on the challenge of running the distance from the University Clocktower “Old Joe”, to the Royal Albert Hall and back again! 204 miles in total!

Each year we will select a music education charity to support during our annual Summer Festival of Music. Please help us by donating.
