Story
Swallowing Awareness Day is a time to raise awareness of how speech and language therapists (SLTs) and charities such as The Swallows Head & Neck Cancer Charity help people living with eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties.
Eating, drinking and swallowing is an essential part of most people’s day and is often taken for granted, but for some people it is not that easy. Eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties, also known as dysphagia, can affect a person’s quality of life and can lead to other health complications. This year, for Swallowing Awareness day SLT students from Sheffield University are hosting a cake sale and tombola. All monies raised in aid of The Swallows Head & Neck Cancer Charity and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.
